Other Procedures

In the field of Gynecology and Obstetrics there are several additional exams and procedures that can be used in the diagnosis of its related conditions. In our health clinic there is a wide range of procedures that can be made, starting with a simple cytology (Pap test or Pap smear), extremely useful in screening cervical cancer but also more specific ones, as follows:

HYSTEROSCOPY – observation of the interior of the uterus with a tube to which a camera is attached;

COLPOSCOPY –enlarged observation of the cervix to identify areas where to perform biopsies, should they be necessary;

LASER – diagnosis and therapy procedure of vulvar, vaginal and cervix diseases;

CTG (cardiotocography) – procedure usually used antenatally to assess fetal well-being through uterine contractions and fetal heart rate;

AMNIOCENTESIS – used as a complement to ultrasound when there is the need to examine amniotic fluid, either for karyotyping or other indications;

 We work with several Clinical Pathology Laboratories which allow us to biochemically complement our diagnosis and support your ultrasound study during pregnancies
