Colposcopy

A colposcopy is an exam that consists in the observation of your cervix with a microscope and a bright light. It identifies lesions of the cervix that may go unnoticed to the naked eye, and helps the physician to decide on his next procedure (biopsy, follow-up or therapy).

Cervical cancer is a preventable disease. Today, we are very close to do it due to the advances in oncology, to the new therapies and to new surgical and therapeutic procedures. This is the era of the vaccines, the primary prevention for cervical cancer.

In the beginning of the 21st century, cancer lies in the relation between Society and Science, daring people to face costumes and behaviours and challenging the medical community to apply its remarkable knowledge advance to conquer this old and malignant disease.
